Firefighters Visit School

The children really enjoyed visiting with the Chattanooga Fire Fighters and Sparky the Fire Prevention Dog this morning. The firefighters taught the children about fire safety, stop drop and roll, and how to get down to crawl under smoke. They watched a firefighter get dressed into his fire fighting gear and the listened to him breath from the air tank. After the presentation the children went outside to see and climb into the huge firetruck. All of our children that participated in the program received a fire hat and the title of Junior Firefighter.

Seeing the local firefighters visit the school is such a heartwarming reminder of the importance of community and safety, providing a much-needed perspective while I navigate the intensive rigors of my current PhD research.
